Our Machine Learning Crash Course goes in depth on generative AI

Our Machine Learning Crash Course goes in depth on generative AI In 2018, Google’s Engineering Education team released Machine Learning Crash Course, a free, online 15-hour self-study course that teaches fundamental machine learning (ML) concepts and principles. Our goal was to democratize access to machine learning knowledge, so anyone with a little bit of programming knowledge could develop the core skills necessary to become an ML practitioner. Six years later, the landscape of artificial intelligence and machine learning has evolved significantly, with new technologies such as generative AI and large language models. But literacy in core ML concepts is still essential knowledge for anyone interested in building AI software, using AI tools or just better understanding how AI works.

Google creating an AI agent to use your PC on your behalf, says report

Google is reportedly developing a new AI tool that could take over your web browser to carry out various tasks. It is also working on an agent capable of controlling your computer beyond the browser. According to a report from Reuters, this AI project, known as "Project Jarvis," is expected to be part of Google's next release of its Gemini large language model (LLM). However, Google isn't the only company pursuing this kind of technology; OpenAI is also said to be developing a computer-using agent (CUA) designed to navigate the web autonomously within your browser. The AI tool aims to simplify online research and other tasks by allowing users to give direct commands in the browser. This would eliminate the need for creating APIs or using screen recordings for the AI to access user data. Instead, users could instruct the AI to perform tasks such as opening relevant web pages, organizing search results into tables, purchasing items, or booking travel arrangements, with the AI handling everything from filling out forms to clicking buttons. If Google succeeds in launching this system, it could make AI tools significantly more user-friendly, even for those without any technical background. The AI would enable users to accomplish tasks simply by typing instructions into the browser, streamlining processes, and enhancing accessibility by removing the need for technical know-how or complicated setups. Researchers are developing key technology for the commercialization of quantum cryptography

In modern cryptosystems, users generate public and private keys that guarantee security based on computational complexity and use them to encrypt and decrypt information. Recently, however, modern public-key cryptosystems have been exposed to potential security vulnerabilities compared to quantum computers with large computing power.

Quantum cryptosystems have received much attention as a solution. They use quantum keys that guarantee security based on quantum physics and not computational complexity, making them safe from quantum computers as well. Therefore, it is expected that quantum cryptosystems will replace modern cryptosystems.

Quantum key distribution (QKD) is the most important technology for realizing quantum cryptosystems. Two main technical issues should be addressed in order to commercialize QKD. One is communication distance and the other is extension from one-to-one (1:1) communication to one-to-many (1:N) or many-to-many (N:N) network communication.

Doubtful (TF) QKD,...
