WASHINGTON, DC - As the US government passes new legislation to prevent mass shootings, the Air Force is piloting a system that combines artificial intelligence and drone technology to stop active shooters at military installations.

The Drone-Robot Enabled Active Shooter Deterrence System, developed by Philadelphia-based ZeroEyes, overlays the company's existing AI weapon detection software on top of the security camera system at Ellsworth Air Force Base, South Dakota. Then it uses drones or robots to contain a would-be shooter.

"The whole idea behind the platform is to be able to take a robot and ultimately be able to hinder and disorient an active threat on a facility before it can do any further damage"...
