If you've read mine Google Pixel 6a review, you will know that I have mixed feelings about the phone. While it has a nice small form factor and an easy-to-use fingerprint scanner, it has terrible battery life and charges too slowly.
The phone is out now, so many of you may be facing the same problem. But one problem I had was easily solved by waiting a few months before making a purchase - which is what this entire article is about.
You see, the Pixel 6a is priced a bit too high - while at $449 / £399 / AU$749 it's a little cheaper than the Pixel 6a Google Pixel 6nine months of price cuts meant the older phone was basically available at exactly the same price as its budget alternative.
This is a bit of an embarrassing problem for Google, as it means that if you find a decent one, you will Pixel 6 deal, you can get the more powerful phone at a cheaper price. However, if for some reason you want the Pixel 6a, there's a way to get it for a lot cheaper.
Black Friday is coming soon
Google is clearly a fan of lowering the price of its technology during sales season. During Prime Day 2022, the price of the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro has been slashed.
Black Friday 2022 will drop at the end of November and there's a very good chance the Pixel 6a could see a good price drop then. It will have been around for four months at this point, so it won't be too new to see a reduction.
Judging by Google's past habits and the way Black Friday works, we're very likely to see the Pixel 6a hit a new low price point, and it'll almost certainly be a lot more affordable than the Pixel 6 ever was.
That makes it a great deal - one worth waiting for, I'd say. So unless you really need a brand new phone in the next four months, my advice is to wait until Black Friday to pick up the Pixel 6a.
Of course, I can't guarantee the budget Pixel phone will get a discount or that it'll be a good one, but precedents suggest it will. And if not, there are plenty of other Black Friday deals for everyone best phones which you can pick up instead.
