Google's latest budget phone has now been announced and the Google Pixel 6a represents excellent value at its core. It's powered by the same Tensor chipset found in the more expensive one Google Pixel 6 flagships (opens in new tab) but that's not all that speaks for it.
The Pixel 6a is certainly an impressive mid-range phone that offers a small and light form factor, measuring 152.2 x 71.8 x 8.9mm and weighing just 179g. The weight is mainly due to it having a plastic back and not the glass found on the Pixel 6 models, but at this price point you can't beat Google for it.
With a 6.1-inch FHD+ OLED display with a refresh rate of up to 60Hz, 6GB of RAM and a 128GB storage option, the 6a is a more affordable alternative to the Google Pixel 6 (opens in new tab), without major compromises. One area of note is the cameras on the 6a - while you can't expect flagship 50MP main cameras on the Pixel 6, the Pixel 6a comes with two modest 12MP cameras for wide-angle and ultra-wide-angle shooting. However, with the same 8MP front camera, your selfie game will still be on point.
As well as the acclaimed Magic Eraser, which lets you erase unwanted subjects in your selfies or travel photos, the 6a also features Night Sight, which lets you capture city lights, the starry sky and even low-light portraits.
