
AWS has reported extensively on its cloud computing infrastructure that has supported Amazon's huge Prime Day sale event.
Amazon's Prime Day 2022 on July 12 was the biggest since the event began in 2015. This year, Prime subscribers worldwide bought more than 300 million items during the all-day event. Customers were buying 100,000 items per minute worldwide and 60,000 per minute in the US. according to Amazon.
The basis of Prime Day formed the computing and storage infrastructure of Amazon Web Services (AWS) as well as the database, e-mail and messaging services. AWS has outlined key metrics for the support it has provided for Amazon Prime Day 2022.
"A variety of Two-Pizza teams have worked together to ensure that every piece of our infrastructure is scaled, tested, and ready to serve our customers," said AWS Chief Evangelist Jeff Barr.
